Every year we get warnings of the extreme weather we are about to experience in the coming months. High winds, snow and ice and large amounts of rain are always predicted but in some parts of the country it can be worse than others. However, if you prepare yourself in advance then these things don’t come as such a surprise and you’ll be able to deal with them far better. We asked Orbital Fasteners for their top tips!
In sub zero conditions getting your vehicle onto a gritted road can be a problem, particularly if your property or business is positioned on a hill or sloping land. Overcome this by equipping yourself with a bag or two of Rock Salt which will effectively melt any snow or ice and allow you to move your vehicle easily.
If you or your family keep rabbits as pets then keeping them protected from severe weather can be a problem. Not everyone has the space to move them into a garage or indoor area during the colder months, but if you make sure the hutch can be protected from the rain and snow and always give them plenty of bedding they shouldn’t come to much harm. Using a Woven Polyethylene Tarpaulin over the hutch at night can protect your pets from the worst of the weather and can be held down with a couple of bricks to stop it blowing off.
Make sure any fencing around your site or property is in good order before the bad weather sets in. All it takes is a hammer and a few nails, or even better a Nailer Gun to fix any loose panels which will hopefully then survive any strong winds; being prepared is always the better option and will cost far less in the long term whilst saving on your time too.
